Kele Baker, director
Life Force Chi Centre founder and director, Kele Baker, has over 25 years experience instructing movement and mind-body movement, both to groups and individual clients. Integrating Five Element qigong, Tai Chi Easy™ and secular mindfulness, she leads specialized body-mind, meditative movement sessions in London, England at The Mulberry Centre at West Middlesex University Hospital (cancer care and support), Parkinson’s UK support groups, Nuffield Fitness & Wellbeing Gym, and in independently organized classes.
Ms. Baker was Lead Program Instructor and Qigong training expert for Weight Watchers International’s qigong-based pilot program. She is a Senior Teacher and former Director of Teacher Training for Holden Qigong (Santa Cruz, CA), and a Tai Chi Easy™ and Integral Qigong and Tai Chi facilitator (Institute for Integral Qigong & Tai Chi, Santa Barbara, CA).
Ms. Baker’s previous career in ballroom dancing (Argentine tango choreographer for Strictly Come Dancing - BBC’s version of Dancing With the Stars - BBC Books author, co-founder/co-director of the Kensington Dance Studio, founder/organizer of Dance Al Fresco charity events), ended due to whiplash injuries from a car accident. Qigong and tai chi became her daily, therapeutic, self-care practice, supporting her body-mind’s innate restorative capacity - relieving her anxiety, depression, frustration and worry from the compromised body and loss of career, and providing her with positive body experiences, a return to functioning, and hope for her future.
A native New Yorker, Ms. Baker holds a BSc in Drama from Northwestern University, numerous internationally recognized dance teaching qualifications, and is a certified Alexander Technique teacher.
